No spells, no Dios lightning to reverse the battle, no admitted supernatural elements, but at the same time minotaurs, harpies, giants and cyclops as military units, albeit ordinary people in creative costumes to intimidate the enemy, the so-called “truth hidden behind the myth “But still – can you imagine a better way to totally destroy any impression that you are really in the Bronze Age?”
I’ve been skeptical since the developers at Gamescom presented me with a strangely incoherent vision that seemed like they couldn’t choose whether they intended a historical setting or a mythological one for their strategic epic. People like it, and since I’m human, I like it too – whether I’m fighting in the fantasy Warhammer, going back to ancient Rome, or discovering a whole new culture in the Chinese Three Kingdoms.īut I really didn’t expect Troy, a smaller game included in the Total War Saga subset, to join these nobles and heroes of the strategic genre. A turn-based, strategic map, where you are wondering what city to attack or which building to build in it, is combined with tactical battles in real time, where you nicely send your regiments by hand to meet a bloody fate.

The Total War series has been thriving in recent years. But I still pour ashes on my head, because the key, all-sum 35 characters put together the following sentence: A Total War Saga: Troy is a good game. Thus, the answer is quite clear: The bigger jerk is one hundred percent Menelaus, because he needed ten years of brutal war to correct his mistake, while ten thousand characters in Word are enough for me. Contestant number two: Vašek, a Czech reviewer who aptly thought he could condemn the game based on a few videos and four hours of demos from the very beginning of the game. Contestant number one: Menelaus, the king of Spartus, who confidently let the sleek sexy fox Parida into his house and never thought that his young, passionate wife could get a taste for a Trojan canapé.
